How to search for and find specific materials in Prospector

  

Use Search Filters

Add search filters to refine your results and better align with your search criteria. 

  • Each filter you add sharpens your search results by only showing items that fit your specified value.
  • Some filters let you pick multiple values, giving you results that match at least one of the chosen options. 
    • For instance, if you select Company A, Company B, and Company C in the Company filter, your results will include items from Company A, Company B, or Company C.
  • Property filters will be unavailable if they do not assist in refining your results. Consider changing or removing your search criteria if a filter doesn't appear. 
  • The filter options differ based on the industry you're searching in.



How to use search filters:

  • Log in and navigate to the home page.
    • Browse by type by selecting one of the following from the 'Browse' section
      • Ingredients
      • Formulationsions 
      • Equipment/Services 
      • Industry Information 
    • Or, if you know the type of product or even the exact product, use the 'Enter Keyword Search' bar at the top of the page. 
  • Use Refine Search filters in the left sidebar



Boolean Search ("AND", "NOT", "OR")

Using "and" will return results for all terms and phrases used. 

  • For example, in the search, tea and triethanolamine results will be returned which contain either of those words.


Using "not" will return all instances that contain the term or phrase to the left of the 'not', but do not contain the term or phrase to the right. 

  • For example, the search tea not triethanolamine will return all results that contain the word 'tea' and do NOT contain the word 'triethanolamine'.


Adding an "or" will return all records that contain either of the phrases or terms. 

  • For example, the search tea or triethanolamine will return all records that contain either 'tea' or 'triethanolamine'.



Unable to find expected product(s) in search results

First, please try to refine the search results by modifying filter options. 

  • If you are still unable to find expected product(s) in search results, please Submit a ticket for further assistance. 



How to view product information in another region

Your default region for searching is based on your primary business and location.

  • If a product is not available for your region, please Submit a ticket with the name of the product you are seeking.
