Resetting a password within your account or resetting a forgotten password


If you need to reset your passwords due to forgotten credentials or security updates, this article provides detailed instructions to help you reset your password quickly and securely.

Resetting Your Password

If you need to reset your password, follow these steps:


If you can log in and access your account 

  • Click on your initials at the top right corner.
  • Select Member Profile 
  • Under Account Information, click Change Password.
  • Follow the prompts to update your UL Solutions Account information.


If you cannot log in, use the Forgot Password link

  • Go to the Prospector Login page.
  • Click on the 'Forgot your password?' link.
  • Follow the prompts to reset your password.
  • Check your inbox for the password reset email.



Password Requirements

Ensure your new password meets the following criteria:

  • Between 8 and 64 characters in length.
  • At least 1 lowercase and 1 uppercase letter.
  • At least 1 number (0-9).
  • At least 1 special character (e.g., !"#$%&'()+<=).



Additional Tips

  • Check your spam/junk folder for the activation email.
  • Clear your browser cache.
  • Accept site cookies.
  • Try using a different browser (Firefox, Edge, Chrome, etc.).
